Man Thinking About Attending an Inpatient Drug Rehab ProgramIf you’re a man considering addiction rehab, there are many factors to consider when choosing a plan of treatment. The level of care needed to combat your addiction will be a primary consideration. When you have an addiction to alcohol or drugs like heroin, prescription painkillers, cocaine, meth or benzodiazepines, inpatient drug rehab is quite often the recommended option.

The main reason for choosing inpatient drug rehab is to control your environment, so you aren’t tempted to use again. Even after having a medical detox to cleanse your body of addictive substances, your brain and body have changed due to the addiction. These changes can cause cravings and compulsions for many weeks. The familiar temptations of your home environment could prove too difficult to resist during this vulnerable time period.

Your path to recovery is waiting

Inpatient Drug Rehab Program

Serenity Lodge has a wide-range of treatment therapies for men needing addiction rehab. Helping you to heal for the long term, inpatient drug treatment provides both traditional and alternative therapies.

Behavioral Therapies

We mainly use two types of behavioral therapies: ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).

ACT helps men accept that they have flaws and issues, and that many of these factors contribute to addiction. It challenges men to accept these factors with the goal of committing to change. By turning negative thoughts and actions into positive ones with the guidance of ACT, men can create better lives for themselves without addiction.

CBT is a thinking-and-feeling therapy where thoughts and emotions are explored in a non-confrontational setting. Men are encouraged to explore their negative thoughts and feelings, and then develop strategies and methods to change reactions to them.

Alternative Therapies

At Serenity Lodge, we provide alternative therapies to complement our behavioral ones. Our blended approach, using all types of evidence-based treatment, offers a wide range of therapies for maximum effectiveness.

Experiential Therapy provides another set of tools in our therapy toolbox, and includes:

Drum Circle: The drum circle is a body-centered activity structured to promote skills like listening, communicating, learning and teamwork to inspire confidence, respect and creativity. The drum circle gives participants a feeling of belonging to a group and a sense of community. Men develop a sense of male camaraderie where there’s a comfortable and playful atmosphere.

Sing-Along: Singing can be an excellent stress reliever. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a pro vocalist to enjoy our sing-alongs. Our staff has accomplished musical artists who choose songs and play instruments that encourage you to join in singing. It’s a popular activity at Serenity Lodge, and has the same benefits as a drum circle.

Recording Booth: If you want to experiment, or you have experience in a recording studio, either way you’ll have a fun time playing and singing in our professional recording booth. It’s a therapeutic amenity that’s rarely found at most rehab centers. Our clients have an excellent time collaborating, singing and recording music in our studio.

Grief & Loss Counseling

Losing a loved one, a job or career, or any other significant loss can be hard for men to deal with. Emotions are bottled up and negative thoughts blocked by way of substance abuse, making it much easier for addiction to take hold. Trauma Informed counseling helps you deal with those types of issues, opening the doors for healing and recovery.
